Text: 8. David2 Fancher (Richard1) moved from Morris County, New Jersey, to Sussex County, New Jersey, before 1763; was in Berkeley County, Virninia, before 1778 and left there about 1782 for Rockbridge, Va. He was in the latter place in 1787 and may have died there. He received a land grant from Governor Patrick Henry of Virginia 18 March 1782, signed 18 Oct. 1785. In the Virginia tax lists David appears in 1783, and up to 1 May 1787, when he and all of his family are lost sight of. About October 1776 David Fancher was among the signers of a Dissenter Petition from Ecclesiastical establishment in Virginia. He was married in Morris County, N. J.
